Because of this, illicit stills were common in the area for many years. The distillery was formerly known as Braes of Glenlivet and changed to Braeval in 1994. They pride themselves on bottling the finest single malt Scotch whisky, blended whisky and blended malt Scotch whisky. Producing artisan single cask whisky from various regions of Scotland as well as bottling rums, gins and Bourbon whiskey. All products are small batch, bottled at cask strength. This North Star bottling was distilled at the Braeval Distillery in February 2009. It was matured in an ex Oloroso Sherry Butt for 13 years. Bottled as part of the Cask Series 018 only 341 bottles were produced with a much smaller amount making it to Australia. Bottled at 55% ABV. Our Tasting Notes Nose: Malted barley with honey sweetness, sticky date pudding and bread and butter pudding. Palate: Chocolate brownie, macaroon bars, lemon citrus and savoury oak. Finish: Long with ‘Tunnock’s’ teacakes and stewed orchard fruits.  . For adults of legal drinking age. Please drink responsibly.
