Caol Ila combine the sweet wine Moscatel with our favourite smokey dram and boom, a delightful Distillers Edition. Caol Ila peated single malt which has been previously matured in ex-Bourbon barrels for around 12 years is left to mature for a further 6 months in ex-Moscatel European oak barrels. Our Tasting Notes Nose: The peat is lovely and sweet but ever so creamy. Vanilla’s and baked shortbread, warm lemons freshly squeezed. Palate: Plenty of oily goodness, it’s like rum and raisin ice cream but with smoke and citrus. Little splashes of spice and vanilla. Finish: Dark chocolate, raisins and liquorice..
