Spirit Thief Whisky Tasting & Product Launch When: Wednesday 20th October 2021 Time: 7PM AEST Where:  Video Conference The Spirit Thief Distilling Co started out in Tasmania in 2015 as an independent bottler with a difference. From the outset they were focused on creating a portfolio of varietal specific red-wine cask matured whiskies. Over the past six years they have done some unique collaborations and gypsy-distilling projects with renowned distilleries and sourced rare casks internationally under their Exploration Series releases, most of which have now sold out. The jewel in the crown and the last in this Series is their 11yo Benrinnes single cask matured in a first fill Bordeaux cask from Château Gruaud-Larose, bottled at natural cask strength of 55.2% abv. Company founder, Brett Steel, has been brewing and distilling for the past 3 years for their own single malt releases, which came to market in 2021 as their Cellar Reserve Series. He joins us to talk about the journey of Spirit Thief, the whiskies they have produced and what’s in store for the future.
