A clearer picture of Garry oak is beginning to take shape. Westland have begun to answer a number of questions already with their early releases. Edition 5 has a higher percentage of Garry Oak casks than any previous edition, and combining a pale malt spirit with only peated spirit, it’s also the simplest in construction. The maturation was broken down to Ex-Bourbon (64%), Garry Oak (36%) Such simplicity masks a quality and a pairing of unique flavours of each to create something new. Released November 2020. Tasting Notes Nose: A sweet fragrance of cottonwood serves as the greeting followed by Waffles, cereal and rich smoked chocolate notes. Palate: Signature barbecue notes are front and center.
